Getting over rejection with 2 Stupid Dogs

"Listen, kid, love is the only chance for happiness you'll ever get in this life, and if you're going to let a little thing like rejection stand in your way, baby, you might as well stay right there on the ground, because people are going to be walking over you for the rest of your life."
Well, I really felt like writing something today but the words just didn’t seem quite to get out, so… I was just sitting here wondering what I should write about and, I don’t know why, the image of the old but funny dogs I sometimes watched when I was little came to my mind, so I just looked them up and remembered how these two crazy unfitting dogs used to gave me a really good time while going on the most weird kind of situations and finding ‘their’ way out of them.

So I was watching this episode when the dogs try to help this little kid Kenny with his love crush and the Big Dog, usually quiet but now unexpectedly wise, says the quote seen up there (in the start of the post) which was a surprising but uplifting and heartening thing to me, and made me think on how that’s true and we people let things past us by, just for being scared of what other people’s reactions might be to our feelings, or for how some situation it’s going to affect us in some way that could kick us out of our comfort zone, maybe simply for being afraid to change, or afraid to gamble with our ‘good enough’ situation and then have to learn to deal with a more exciting but unknown way of life, the thing is that is good and sane to be a little afraid sometimes, it’s just part of our human condition, but we need to stop and realize that rejection, as well as mistakes, are part of our life, and a very beautiful and important part, the one that gives us the chance to learn, to be persistent and loyal to what we want, to grow wiser and stronger with each new opportunity and, why not?, to simply experiment new feelings and emotions that continue to shape our soul and help us deal with the future with a different perspective.

Where was I going? Oh yeah, when you want something in life or whenever a chance to take a leap of faith comes to you, reach out for it, be a little cautious, but don’t let it hold you back, cause truth is, we learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successes, so you don’t really have a losing point, you can either success and enjoy the ride or fail and learn something from it.

Don’t waste your ability of believing that everything that happens in this life, no matter how bad it looks, can give us something better and bigger in return, so, you get over it quickly and start enjoying the good it left behind!

“I really wish I was less of a thinking man and more of a fool not afraid of rejection.” Billy Joel
